A British physical-AI product company

Project Stone

Developing a software platform for creating, deploying and managing applications for general-purpose robots.

AmbitionBuilt for a global market

Our vision

A reusable platform for robotic applications.

Our vision is to make robotic applications easier to create, deploy and manage across compatible machines and operating environments.

The company has substantial support from multiple investors. Its founders bring extensive experience across technology, electronics, semiconductors, software, company building, investment and finance.

Our ambition is to build a globally important product company, headquartered in Britain and serving international markets.

Why now

The economics of robotics are changing.

Robotic hardware is becoming more capable and substantially less expensive. At the same time, advances in AI, perception, simulation and robot learning are expanding what these machines can do.

Yet there remains a large gap between possessing a capable robot and operating a dependable business application. Each deployment must connect human intent, business information and an understanding of the physical world with the capabilities of the available machine.

The platform could support applications in areas such as retail, logistics, facilities management and other human-centred commercial environments.

The product

A retargetable environment for robotic applications.

At the centre of the platform will be a physical-world ontology: a reusable representation of environments, objects, people, tasks, relationships, constraints and robot capabilities.

Core knowledge layer

Physical-world ontology

The ontology will provide a common language connecting operational requirements with physical robotic actions. It will represent what exists in an environment, what outcome is required, what constraints apply and which robotic capabilities are available.

Rather than rebuilding an application for every robot, site or operating context, the platform will allow relevant knowledge, task definitions and operating rules to be adapted across compatible machines and environments.

Building the network

Combining the capabilities needed to build something important.

Project Stone is currently networking across the robotics and physical-AI ecosystem. We are speaking with researchers, engineers, technology leaders, operators and domain specialists to understand where the strongest capabilities reside and how complementary expertise might be brought together.

These conversations are intended to develop relationships, strengthen the technical direction and create the network from which a founding technical team and technical advisory board can emerge.

  • Physical-world ontologies and knowledge representation
  • Robot learning, manipulation and perception
  • Task planning and robot-capability abstraction
  • Simulation, robotics software and systems integration
  • Safety, verification and exception handling
  • Real-world deployment and operational expertise

A global robotics product company, created and headquartered in Britain.

Our immediate purpose is to bring together the right people, define the architecture and progress toward a focused proof of concept. Our longer-term objective is a reusable platform that extends across applications, machines and international markets.
